Hope Fellowship Church is a congregation of approximately 600 persons located in the heart of Daytona Beach Florida. The church, originally named, Hope Fellowship Full Gospel Baptist Church, was born June 25, 1995. It was on June 12, 1995 that the Lord spoke into the spirit of Derek T. Triplett and told him that He wanted to birth a new church out of him.
Pastor Triplett resigned from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and it was at that time that God laid the foundation and the vision for Hope Fellowship Church. God spoke and said, “Give the people Hope.”
June 25th was the first Sunday of Worship. Everything was in place, ushers on the doors, and choir in the choir stand. People were ready to receive the blessings of God. It was an exciting day. One of the songs that the choir sang was entitled “We Win” and God blessed in a great way. The first message that Pastor Triplett preached on that particular day was a message from Joshua, Chapter 1, verses 1-9. The title of the message was “People of the Promise”. God would have the people to know that He had set this up, because they were the chosen ones, people of the promise. After well attended services Hope Fellowship consisted of over 120 members. That was the birth of Hope Fellowship Church.
In 1998 Pastor Triplett was consecrated Bishop in the Lord's church by the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, International, Bishop Paul S. Morton, International Presiding Bishop. Hope Fellowship was affiliated with Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship for over 10 years and Bishop Triplett served in various capacities including State Bishop of Florida and Bishop of Youth.
In the spring of 1999, that Hope Fellowship Full Gospel Baptist Church, Inc. changed its legal name to Hope Fellowship Church, Inc. It was a part of the original vision given to Bishop Triplett that there would be no perceived denominational barrier for the ministry. Also, in the same year, Hope Fellowship Church, Inc. purchased and renovated our present edifice located at 869 Derbyshire Road. On June 19, 1999, the Family of Hope cut the ribbon on our new home. The first services were held on June 20, 1999.
To God be the glory. Over the years, Hope Fellowship Church has licensed 27 ministers to preach the gospel and ordained 10 elders in the church and continues to expand its kingdom effort within the Central Florida area.
Yes, There Is Hope!
